“Understanding RESNET’s HERS Index”–Free CEU Webinar will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 12 pm-1:15 pm EDT. This webinar will introduce participants to RESNET’s Home Energy Rating System (HERS). With more than 2 million homes being HERS Rated and the addition of more than 200,000 rated homes each year; HERS is the gold standard for rating a home’s energy use. Attendees will learn how a home energy rating works and the process for conducting one. In addition, attendees will learn how RESNET’s Home Energy Rating System is used to support green building, energy efficiency and utility programs as well as building energy codes.

The webinar will also cover the requirements for becoming a HERS Rater and the quality assurance standards that apply to HERS Ratings. This webinar is perfect for design professionals, product manufacturers, building material suppliers, builders, code officials, utility representatives and anyone wanting to learn about HERS Ratings.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe how a Home Energy Rating works and ties into LEED BD+C V4 EA Annual Energy Use
  2. Describe the process for conducting a Home Energy Rating that is required for LEED BD+C V4 Minimum Energy Performance and what impact it can have on occupant health
  3. Explain how RESNET’s Home Energy Rating System works with green building, LEED BD+C V4 Energy Budget, energy efficiency and utility programs as well as building energy codes;
  4. Understand the requirements for becoming a HERS Rater and the health and life safety aspects of what Raters do.
