Casement and Awning Options for High-Performance Houses

Weather Shield’s new line of push-out casement and awning windows can help builders meet stricter codes while providing wider expanses of glass.

Many green building programs suggest the use of casement and awning windows instead of double-hung to help meet stricter energy efficiency standards.  The Weather Shield Contemporary Collection offers new products that can satisfy these requirements.

The new line of Push-Out Casement and Awning Windows, offering heights of up to 7 feet, come with two hardware style choices — contemporary and transitional, with finishes including Matte Black, Rustic Bronze, and Satin Nickel. Plus, a newly redesigned hinged screen includes concealed hinges, a new screen frame, and rare earth magnets for improved operation.

These windows operate smoothly and easily with a turn of the handle and an outward push. Additionally, they feature a German-engineered locking system with adjustable roller cams, which provides superior performance and unrivaled operation at any size.

Weather Shield also offers a Retractable Screen option for Casement Windows, which will be available for its Contemporary Collection and Premium Series.
