BlueGreen Alliance Foundation now offers a free website that makes it easier to find locally made and healthier energy efficient products.

This site lists more than 3,000 U.S. facilities that manufacture energy efficient products – with new ones being added every day. Included are the Energy Star sectors for building materials — insulation, sealants, roofing, appliances, plumbing, lighting, windows, doors and skylights, and HVAC — plus a section on water filtration systems.

You can use the website to:

  • Locate energy efficient products in 9 sectors;
  • Learn about potentially hazardous products, what makes them dangerous to resident health and what you can do to make better choices;
  • Find a broad range of energy efficient products with ease in a free online database;
  • Be prepared to easily meet customer demand for local and healthier building products;
  • Have company contact and location information at your fingertips;
  • Build homes that are more energy and water efficient using American-made products; and
  • Use a consolidated database to find and specify products with a health certification or transparency report.

BuildingClean.org helps you understand what type of products could contain dangerous chemicals and which products have health certifications.  The site consolidates the many separate certifications and ingredient disclosure lists into a single database by sector so you can find the exact brand, material or company you want.

The site owners offer free webinars to walk through how to use and get the most out of the Building Clean database.
