DOE’s Energy Code Commentator’s next webinar-based training is January 11.

Metal buildings represent a common source of questions when it comes to energy code compliance. This series installment will provide an introduction to various types of metal buildings, their systems, and how they are defined in the national energy codes, Standard 90.1 and the IECC.

The presentation will cover metal building envelope assemblies and applications–from roofs to exterior walls and fenestration, air barriers, and envelope air leakage–related challenges, and available compliance options. A demo of DOE’s energy code compliance software, COMcheck, will also cover how different metal building assemblies are defined and can be calculated.
